Pacific Lions pretty much does the same thing. We have donations made payable
to us. We keep track of those donations to make certain that all monies is used
for the benefit. If we or the family can get food and such donated it's
awesome, if we don't the monies to pay for it generally comes from the
donations collected for that particular event. If our club is too small for the
benefit we have it worked out with a local school that we can rent their
gymnasium for $100 donation since we are non profit.
Good Luck!

Subject: [molions] Benefits
Hello.
When clubs have benefits for people in need is there any standard way that they
handle the donations? Do the donors need to write the checks out to the person
who they are having the benefit for or to the Lions Club? Does the Lions club
take the expenses (food, etc) out of their account or use the money from the
benefit to pay for it?
Thank you for your advise on this matter.
