http://www.alanstepney.info/trialfit.jpg Shows the second "rough assembly" of the Heinrici. The first rough assembly turned out to be rougher than I expected. Now, we all know that you check measurements before cutting metal and that drawings arent perfect. But, silly me, just made the parts according to the drawings and then found that it all jams up when you try to rotate it. So, either I made a mistake, or there is an error on the drawings. Adding 1/4" packing pieces between the base and the two columns has cured the problem. Now I need to check and see if the mistake is mine, or not. Also, ensure that the dispacer (it goes under the base) fits and doesnt foul anything. Then dismantle and final coat of paint. The brass eccentric attached to the flywheel opposite the piston, is to drive a simple water pump that will deliver cooling water to the outer casing. Apart from cooling it willalso give the engine something to do and make a display (outlet going to bowl that then feeds the pump). The pump is yet to be built but can wait until the engine runs.
