One problem was the mix of magazines they owned.
Some soft porn, which is a market that is shrinking
due to the Internet, plus a lot of computer and gaming
titles, a market that is very well filled with
competing titles.
Also, they paid well over the odds for some of their
aquisitions.
At least it appears that ME etc are safe, and as is
states they are profitable, hopefully they will thrive
when not have to support other publications.
