There is an astounding amount of information, and experience, in the model engineering books, and as you say, we all owe a debt of gratitude to those authors. I am sure that the subjects covered by their books, collectively, contain more information than one would get by working at the average job in engineering, as they encompass such a variety of skills. At the same time, we model engineers are keeping skills alive that are being lost elsewhere, which may well be beneficial in the future. alan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.alanstepney.info Model Engineering, Steam Engine, and Railway technical pages. . ----- Original Message ----- From: "Allen Messer" <al_messer@xxxxxxxxx> To: "modeleng" <modeleng@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 2004 2:53 PM Subject: [modeleng] Thanks I just want to take this opportunity to say thanks to the M.E. society as a whole in the U.K. that over the years has created the atmosphere in which men like L. H. Sparey. L. E. Mason, Tom Walsham, and others, have been able not only to do the things they have done, but to WRITE about it and have it published so that others like me could learn from their experiences and share their knowledge.
