OK, you guys in Oz. The missus and I arrive in Sydney next August, and
we're looking not only to go to the Zig Zag railway, but visit friends in
Melbourna and Toowoomba. It's been suggested that we'll see more of the
country by travelling by train on the XPT from Sydney to Melbourne and
Sydney to Brisbane. Any comments?
Also, any suggestions for what to see in kiwi? It appears that the train
from Auckland to Wellington, and Picton to Christchurch and across the
mountains could be a good way to see a lot of country. Other suggestions
welcomed.

Get back the day before our 25th wedding anniversary. Whether that's good
or bad, I don't know. But two first class return tickets from London to
Sydney for under £500 isn't bad (plus 500,000 BA miles!)
