Hi All,
Some times I do enjoy being a Model Engineer and Mean.
I recently bought a second hand car and I am not saying that it is complicated
but when printed out from a CD disc on how to changed the Spark Plugs the
workshop instructions amounted to eight pages.
To get at the said spark plugs all of the induction manifolds have to be
removed which involves undoing ten rubber hose joints all of which have Clip
together Hose clips. The modern version of a Jubilee Clip.
Never having come across these before I wondered how the heck you got them off.
By luck yesterday I was in a car assessory shop and I spotted Special pliers
for removing Clip together hose clips priced only £15.
The snag was that they were on a display board mounted so high up that I could
not even reach them.
However from a distance I could just about make out the shape of the jaws.
Today using a grind wheel , a Dremmel drill with a Carbide cutting disc and
some inspiration, a pair of 99p nail Pincers were suitably modified for the
removal of said type of hose clips.

Being mean is best.
Regards

Clif
