I've had some that don't work, and the Yamaha tech I spoke with recommended
thePNY which I just purchased, it works fine, the manual says some won't work.

I've used the Motif with all kinds of USB flash drives, and they've all
worked fine.
Be sure that you've formatted it as FAT. Your computer will normally format
it as NTFS, and the Motif can't read that format.
If FAT and NTFS don't make any sense to you, then you need to put the drive
in to the Motif, go in to File mode, and use the format screen to erase/format
it correctly.

Hi: Do you know what types (manufacturers) they recommend, the manual
indicates that certain flash's won't work even assuming the size iw right.

I know the smallest I've used on the motif es is a 64 m.b flash drive.
don't think you can use no bigger than a 2 gig flash drive though!
