You're running in to a warning that is preventing you from throwing away
changes.
When you press the mode key for another mode, if you've made changes to
the pattern, you're asked if you want to leave the song or pattern
without saving changes. If you press dec/no/exit, you return to the song
or pattern. If you press inc/yes then the changes are discarded.
To save, press store, enter, yes.
Once you've stored changes, you won't get the warning when switching to
another mode.

After recording a pattern I want to switch to another mode i.e. voice or
performance. However, when I press exit it does not leave the pattern
mode
is there another way to leave the pattern mode?
