Yesterday afternoon I stopped by the treatment plant hoping to see a
Bobolink
but instead was amazed by the number of shorebirds. The front lagoon water
line
is low and shorebirds were in abundance!! Hundreds, maybe over a thousand!
Also 15 to 20 woodstorks were resting on the small island in the center of
the lake.
On closer observation, I noted an adult bald eagle was busy feeding on some
unlucky
creature, while all others seemed to completely ignore its presence.
Swallows were also busy catching a quick meal from the insect masses.
No bobolinks but so much more!
