Rowan Oak was fairly quiet this morning. The show was dominated by the
transient *Catharus* thrushes--both GRAY-CHEEKED and SWAINSON'S were
prominent, especially around "Catharus corner" southwest of the Faulkner
house in the area of the big mulberry tree. We (myself, Nick Dugan, and
Thomas Moorman) also had an OVENBIRD just a short distance down the Bailey
Woods trail, and the highlight for me was finding a BLUE-WINGED WARBLER
near the creek bridge singing it's very odd "dawn song," which sounds a lot
like part of a Parula or Cerulean song.
