This morning I found 11 Roseate Spoonbills in the upper end of Enid
Reservoir in Yalobusha County. The Spoonbills and many Great Egrets and
Great Blue Herons are located off County Road 395 near Prophet Bridge
(Highway 315 out of Water Valley).
CR395 turns from rough pavement to gravel, then dead-ends in the lake. I
found the Spoonbills in cypress trees where large power lines cross the
gravel road. The lines go across the lake bed, then continue across the
Yocona River and Wildcat Brake.
With the lake falling fast, there is A LOT of shorebird/wader habitat in
that area.
