Ah - I skimmed the Okinaka et al 2011 paper (and a couple more
from the group), but sadly the coverage variation effect wasn't
mentioned, which was a shame - but presumably not relevant to
the main message. Thanks for the clarification.

How long before sequencing is cheap enough to use directly to
explore the dynamics of bacterial DNA replication? It seems a
bit of a sledge hammer, but you could have some fun with multiple
plasmids or looking at mutation effects.
