Joel, you could mount the si570 upside down. Check my pictures on the
www.phonestack.com/farhan/minima.html.
The pins are as widely spaced as a dip. Soldering shouldn't be a problem at all.

Hi,
Just wondering if anybody knows where I could get a small brake out board to
solder my Si570 chip to. Most who use the PCBs won't need this, but those of us
that are building Manhattan style would benefit.
