Guys,
Sorry for the OT post. I’m thinking of finding an affordable, possibly used,
small braille display to help me learn Portuguese by having language lessons
reenforced with braille along with speech. It’s a long story. I need hardware
that would connect easily to my 2021 M1 MacBook.
I need two things. I need an affordable braille display so I can read
Portuguese in braille. I also need a braille resource for learning the braille
symbols for all the diacritical marks, (accents,) in Portuguese braille. For
example, I know that an e with an acute accent is represented in braille with a
full six dot cell. A C with a cedilla is 1, 2, 3, 4, 6. But I would like a
full braille table of all the conventional symbols for letters that commonly
take accents and how these are represented in conventional foreign language
text, particularly Portuguese.
Finally, I’d also like any suggestions for braille Portuguese as second
language textbooks that I might be able to use, particularly if they are
relatively short and wouldn’t take up a ton of space on my shelf.
Again, I realize this is pretty off the wall. If anyone has any suggestions
regarding where I might turn to look for any of these tools, please let me know.
Thanks,
Kevin
