I would like to point out the reasons that YouTube and other sites are trying
to ban these kinds of downloaders is that you were breaking the terms of
service which is a legal document when you use these downloads. Not fair?
Perhaps. But the terms are what they are.

Hi,
Version 2 of Pontes is outdated these days.
There is a version on the Pontes website, 3.5.1, but it hasn’t been touched
since April twenty second of last year at all.
And it isn’t properly working here for some reason either.
Downloads freeze or just do not happen, and so on.
And this version was supposed to be faster.
It started out working, but then all of a sudden something happened that made
it stop working right, to the point where it wouldn’t even extract things,
regardless of URL. So nothing at all even reaches conversion at this stage,
even if things supposedly download.
And like I said, it has been left untouched by the developer at Pontes for
all this time.
I do know that additionally, YouTube and many other sites of late, are
actively trying to ban these kinds of downloaders, or, they’re making changes
to their API that ends up breaking all of these types of things, and if the
developers aren’t on top of things, who knows what will break next.
And these kinds of changes are very frequent.
So you should keep this in mind.
If you decide, go to the Pontes site and give 3.51 a try. But, if it ends up
not doing something for you, don’t be surprised either.
Mine spits out lots of Python errors and such about frozen downloader and
other things.
Or references python module issues.
In any case, these things would have to be fixed by the developer at Pontes.
So I don’t use it anymore.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [freelists-midimag] Help! Pontes isn't downloading any songs
Hi Gang: of late, after capturing the URL by going to the address bar with
the usual command and copying the URL, then pasting it into Pontes media
Downloader, choosing the format and clicking on download, it makes that
sound. Immediately following that, it says the download is complete, and the
download is nowhere to be found. Instead, I’ve found the executable link in
the Pontes Media Download folder, where it used to place what I wanted to
capture. I seem to have a version 2 something. Is there a later version? Any
hints?
