Hi Bill, really sorry to hear about this. I remember Gordon helping me back
in the Cakewalk days, and when I was going through some things he was there
to help me. It's time I return the favor.

Community, Recovering from Serious Accident [cross-posted]
As some of you may have heard, Gordon Kent was seriously injured earlier
this year in a fire in his apartment. He is recuperating in a medical
facility after having been in the hospital for months. Unfortunately, he
lost both legs to the fire, and is learning how to navigate life in a
wheelchair. He will be back online as soon as he has his computer and phone
set up again.
Gordon was a founding member of the MIDI-Mag listserv for blind audio
producers and musicians. He is a multi-instrumentalist and vocal performer,
talented recording engineer, arranger, and producer. Gordon was the main
developer of the original JAWS scripts for the talking braille score feature
of our Lime notation software. From time to time over the past twenty-five
years, he has assisted Dancing Dots at industry conferences, and in
providing consultation, training and technical support services.
Do keep Gordon in your thoughts and prayers as he moves on down the long
road to recovery. I'm sure he would appreciate hearing from any of you.

Thankfully, the majority of Gordon's care has been covered by medical
insurance. But he may have long-term needs that will persist after medical
insurance coverage ends. Members of his family and church are considering
best options for setting up a fund to support him. When I have particulars,
I will do my best to spread the word.
