My Telecaster is just light, and easy to play and you can get at the higher
frets easier than you can on other guitars.

I'm not sure about this Telecaster obsession I've been hearing a lot though.
I just found out something cool -- my tuners are auto-locking. Adjusting
them is still the same, but then they're locked, and that's going to help my
Floyd Rose out a lot.

Yeah there are always good work arounds. I had a Friend who worked in one of
our local guitar shops and I was looking for a Telecaster. He told me that
some of the Mexican Telecasters were great.
I told him to let me know when he found one that he liked. I wound up
getting it for $225 and I love it.
He was a guitar pedal designer so I knew he'd know about the electronics
when one came in to the shop.

Yeah, Gibson has gotten way high. This Warmoth Explorer was a far better
bet, especially because I was going to insist on ebony for the fretboard and
everything hardware would be swapped out on a factory model.

I love new toys.
I just bought an old Roland VS880--well it's new to me. It's the 4th one
I've purchased over the years.
I recently Played a Gibson SG that I fell in love with. Unfortunately
they've gotten much more expensive than the one I had in high school.
I got to play it in one show though.

Back in 2018, so in a different reality, I started talking with a guitar
tech about building two electric guitars. I'd talked with Phil Muir and
others here about what I was looking for, but the real work was when I
started getting into the deep discussions with the tech. And in November I
started getting the parts I needed.
Time does interesting things, but patience won out, and the first one came
home today. It's an Explorer with an ebony fretboard and all black hardware
and a custom paint job of trumpet flowers, vines, and hummingbirds. It's an
interesting instrument, and I'm looking forward to playing it a lot. It's
also a bit heavy, but this doesn't surprise me.
Now, if I can get the custom pickguard made the Strat can come home too.
