When I was in Rising we ( Ohio County Historical Society did a road rally about
12-13 years ago.
I believe Satolli Glassmeyer has been doing In Your Own Backyard at least that
long.

We have not done a video with him.

Satolli something or other? I'm blanking. He did one about us golly, 5, 6
years ago? We didn't pay anything but maybe that was in the beginning? Ours
wasn't a drone, it was our photos and our location and he did all the work.
Every once in a while someone will dig ours up and tag me in it. I wonder if he
is trying to make it a business now? I know that at least 2 maybe 3 for profit
businesses in Loveland have had theirs done recently.
He also used to do road races--like treasure hunts by car. Loveland Museum
hosted them for 3 years? I came in second one year and 1st another. Those were
a LOT of fun btw. Loveland used them as fundraisers--not sure how much they
paid for him to set them up but there was a cost to register teams.
any who--having said that, if it feels off or you feel pressured hold your
ground. I don't care who the vendor is, high pressure tactics are a no-go.

I feel the same way. He's already been bugging me and has reached out to me
through Facebook a couple months ago. I didn't understand what he was talking
about so we talked on the phone and he went through his sales pitch basically
and then at the very end said oh this is going to cost $1,000. I told him that
we were already doing video projects ourselves for free so that we wouldn't be
interested in his services. Then another nonprofit group reached out to me
asking if we would be interested. I said are you kidding me I already talked to
this guy months ago and apparently he's so desperate enough he reached out to
other groups to get this done. The other group who is a running group and
doesn't understand the undertakings of history projects and that they take long
time are now pressuring me even though I keep telling them no we are doing it
for free and not paying somebody else money. So I was just wondering if anybody
else was ever approached by this guy as well. In his sales pitch he says he has
million views on his videos and that he can reach Nationwide viewers. But after
looking at his YouTube video channels of his videos they are viewed maybe three
hundred times to two thousand times just depending on the location and when the
video is done so it's not a guarantee for good publicity. But he is selling his
services to these other groups that think he's just going to get millions of
people to view his videos when it's not accurate.

He has been trying to get our business for years, even though we have turned
him down flat. Multiple times. He will try to put the pressure on and will
flat-out lie to you that someone in council or a board member has approved the
project. From what I can tell, it is mostly drone flyovers with a voiceover.
Anyone who wants to do a documentary on our city can pay us. We are not in the
business of paying some outsider to tell our story. BTW, he will even try to
get your personal number and bug you at home. I recently described him to
someone as medicine show sleaze. This is my personal opinion after fending him
off for nearly five years now.

Has anyone ever received a request from a guy that does videos and it called
history in your own backyard and he has a Facebook page and YouTube channel?
This guy does short video clips of history but he also charges $1,000 fee and
he doesn't dig up the history he just interviews people.
