Terrie, I will miss Monday's meeting.
I just returned from a three week trip and am trying to catch up. Have two
meetings on Monday and Fairfield drive will not let me make all the meetings.
Sorry to miss, Kathryn

Hi all—
We can discuss on Monday under NEW business, but I wanted to pre-share the
info. These folks are at NKU and we discussed that some of our members might
be interested in their project and maybe helping out. See the outline Dr.
Jones sent over below. I LOVE it b/c it goes beyond the public history dept.
at NKU integrating other disciplines…sounds very exciting and on topic for a
few of our members.

Dear Terrie,
Thank you for your fast reply to our messages and for your willingness to
work with us!
Here is some background on our project:
The Parker Academy was a self-contained educational institution founded in
1839 that represents the first school in the country to offer gender and
racial equality-based education in the same classroom between 1839 to 1889.
Our work is situated within a larger transdisciplinary approach initiated by
Northern Kentucky University among historians, geographers, and
anthropologists (archaeology and ethnography) which began with preliminary
archaeological and archival research in the spring of 2015. Our excavations
continued into this summer as well.
We are very interested in public outreach. In particular, we would like to
collaborate with your group in order to learn how we might align our Parker
Academy Project content on history and archaeology with state standards in
order to get K-12 educational modules out to teachers in the region.
Ultimately we would like to create material based on our research for use in
KY and OH K-12 classrooms.

I look forward to hearing from you.
All the best,
