LOVE the pictures and the "vote" idea.
If I remember right from my days at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library
and Museum, Lincoln is the 2nd most person written about, with the first
being Jesus.

Hi all,
Was in DC for the weekend and wanted to share pics I took from the Ford's
Theater Center for Education and Leadership. Loved that the space was
small, and the exhibit tools were simple. I walked off the space and
although the building is 8 stories (the public part is 4 floors) the space
is roughly 15' x 32' and that's it (and includes the bathroom area and
elevator area)..so you CAN do fun things in small spaces
If you aren't aware, the complex is the Ford's Theater-which houses an
active theatrical calendar as well as reenacted and artistic programs about
Lincoln. The lower level is a museum. Then you cross the street and there
is the Peterson House-where Lincoln was carried to die-which is set up as a
preserved space. Then there is more museum exhibits as you cross into the
Center next door. As you descend to the ground level you move from the
historical (aftermath of the assassination) to legacy, to the conversations
about leadership..first floor is gift shop.
It is a National Park Service location.or at least part of it is.
So the pics are:
1. The tower of Lincoln books extends for 4 floors in the center of
the spiral staircase. There are over 15k books about Lincoln currently in
print!
2. Each stair is a funding opportunity with donor plaques "built in"
3. The screen used behind the activity is actually image printed on a
projection screen (so it can be rolled up, changed out etc.)
4. The activity with the tubes is a way to vote for the leadership
trait you find most important.using a Lincoln penny (BUT there were several
bills used, and some messages)
5. Then each of the 5 traits had a stand where it was defined, it was
described, an historical example was used to illustrate and then you were
asked to share when you or someone you knew used/showed the trait.using
post-it notes!
