Dear all,
This is to let you know that my father John Garfoot who was a long- standing
member of this group died peacefully early this morning at Lower Farm Nursing
Home, Kings Lynn, Norfolk after a long neurological illness (not
covid-related). He would have been 105 on 15 June and bought his first
computer when he was 83. My brother Adrian and I were able to be with him
when he died.
There have been many positive reactions to his long life already. He died on
VE Day in what was for him a sort of victory, and on the feast of St Julian of
Norwich with its emphasis on divine love.
Due to the pandemic we have not yet been able to make plans for his funeral,
but it will be at St Faiths Anglican/Methodist Church Gaywood, Kings Lynn and
the Lynn Crematorium, and there are facilities for online connections at each
venue. Motre details later.
