A few days ago I bought a special water alarm from Best Buy. When it detects
water, it not only sounds an audible alarm, but also sends a notification to my
cell phone, so I will be immediately alerted no matter where I am.
The alarm costs $59.99. It connects to the Internet via my home Wi-Fi to send

I have to admit that it was a bit of a struggle to get it connected and
configured properly, but I think that was mostly because I have a very poor
quality and generally ornery cell phone. If you have a decent smartphone with a
good quality camera (it needs the camera to facilitate the setup), it should go
a lot more smoothly. Once I got it set up, it works just fine.
