*Two days Online workshop*
*Species distribution modelling using **MAXENT AND ENMtools*
*(12-13 February 2021 (6 pm - 8:30 pm IST))*
SDM using the mathematical concept of *Maximum Entropy* has become an
important tool for understanding spatial and ecological distribution of
species.
*MAXENT*, a GUI based algorithm uses this approach to deduce the
probability of distribution of species under a set of environmental
conditions. Also, understanding the *coexistence of species* is also
important, which is enabled by *ENMtools*, which quantifies the niche
overlap between species using environmental data.
*This introductory workshop will provide a first step in learning these
analyses. Designed with a practical, hands-on approach and conducted with
easy-to-use freeware, it will cover the basic concepts, databases,
operations, analysis and interpretation of spatial, ecological and
distributional patterns.*
*PARTICIPANTS*: Anyone who has a basic understanding of statistical
analysis, data extraction, GIS analysis. Sample data and resources will be
provided.
