ICLEI -Local Governments for Sustainability, South Asia is a not for profit
organization, working on issues related to sustainable development. One of
the areas of work are the high altitude pasturelands in the Himalayas.
As part of the work, a virtual panel discussion is being organised on 27th
October at 3:00 PM.
The details are provided below. Request you to please post information
about the session on the YETI group. Participation from young
researchers and their interaction with our panelists will add a lot of
significance and value to the session.

The session details are as follows:
ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability, South Asia is organising a
session entitled Healthy High Altitude Pasturelands for Sustainable
Development in Downstream Cities at Daring Cities 2020 on 27th October 2020.
Degradation of high altitude pasturelands and forests due to climate change
and anthropogenic pressures impacts critical ecosystem service flow to
cities downstream. Ecologically restoring these pasturelands will enhance
sustainable development in downstream cities. The event will highlight the
role of critical ecosystem services from high altitude rural areas
for sustainable urban development, thereby showcasing the need to restore
degraded pasturelands to maintain the flow of the ecosystem services.
