TDU will be conducting a webinar on* 'Introduction to Ethnobotany'* on *16th
July 2020 from 10 am to 1 Pm.*

*About*
*Ethnobotany *is the study of plants and their associated uses based on the
traditional knowledge of local communities. It focuses on studying the
interactions of different communities, with the surrounding environment
especially the plants and their culture. The world is facing an
unprecedented crisis in terms of climate change, growing inequalities and
biodiversity loss. To meet these challenges and unlock the transformational
capacity of research, a sustainability science that is accessible and
mutually beneficial to all is urgently needed.
The webinar will discuss the following questions: How do the science and
practice of ethnobotany position themselves in the global sustainability
debate? What is the potential role of the discipline for achieving
sustainable development, and in particular the SDGs? How are recent
advances in ethnobotany pushing the frontiers of knowledge needed to
achieve sustainable development?
