Hi,

Please circulate this report in YETI list.

In the year 2016, a study on assessment of sloth bear habitats in
district Mirzapur
(Uttar Pradesh)
was conducted by us with support from Worldwide Fund for Nature
(WWF)-India and with the help of Forest Department of Mirzapur.

The report titled ‘Sloth Bears of Mirzapur: Report on Sloth Bear
Habitats, Assessment of Human-Bear Conflict and Identification of
Suitable Corridors for Wildlife Conservation in District Mirzapur’
is
now
 available on our website at
http://vindhyabachao.org/activities/wildlife-related/357-sloth-bear-mirzapur

The report highlights the important sloth bear habitats and corridors
in District Mirzapur and includes range-wise assessment of the present
status of the wildlife protection. The study also shows that the
wildlife of the district is facing serious challenges from land use
change, mining, hunting, grazing and several other human disturbances
which need to be addressed at the earliest. It further proposes a
comprehensive conservation plan for the region up to the landscape
level with the help of remote sensing, ground truthing and other
available information.

We look forward to your feedback and suggestions for making this study useful.

Best wishes
,
