Dear all,
We are initiating a project in Kochi related to the ecosystem services
provided by mangroves to different sections of people living around the
Mangrove patches. We are looking for a motivated candidate to work in this
project for data collection and analysis. The selected candidate will be
working as a consultant in the project with a Terms of Reference to carry
out socioeconomic surveys and archival reviews.
*Whom it can be: *We are looking for a vibrant beginner or a person with
some experience. She/he should be interested in traveling in and around
Kochi Municipality and interact with people to gather the required data.
The candidate must have a Master’s degree in Economics/Social
sciences/Ecology/Social work. Applications from highly motivated students
from any other disciplinary background who want to work on ecosystem
services also will be considered. The candidate must also be* fluent in
Malayalam* and ready to stay in Kochi Municipality area for minimum four
months.
*Preference will be given to: *Candidates with prior experience in
socioeconomic surveys and someone with interest and experience in working
with communities.
Location: The work will be based in Kochi Municipal Corporation, Ernakulam,
Kerala
Duration of opportunity: January 2019 – May 2019.
*Emoluments:* An amount not less than ₹18000 will be paid as remuneration
based on candidate’s work experience. In addition to the remuneration per
diem will be paid for the days spent on fieldwork.
