This year, help map the Peepal Tree!
While you may upload any tree species in India, this year, we have a
special focus on one of the most common and well known species across India
- the Peepal tree or the Sacred Fig (*Ficus religiosa

The Peepal is a large semi-evergreen tree, native to the Indian
subcontinent. It is also known as the bodhi, pippala, peepul or ashwattha
tree. It is widely distributed across India, planted in temple premises and
is sacred to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism.

You can help build data on India's Peepal trees by uploading observations.
For every observation you upload and annotate, you contribute to the
spatial (maps) and temporal (phenology) data or about the uses and
interactions of this tree species.
