Associate Director – Climate Change & Energy

WWF-India, one of the largest conservation organizations, engaged in
wildlife and nature conservation in the country, invites applications
from candidates with an inherent sensitivity towards the conservation
of nature, to work as Associate Director – Climate Change & Energy.

This is a senior role wherein the candidate shall be required to use
his/her technical knowledge and skills in raising the profile of many
of the activities within the programme such as promoting renewable
energy and overall low carbon development strategies, advocacy for a
fair and ambitious climate policy, and evaluating impacts of climate
change on ecosystems and species. The incumbent is also expected to
display leadership as well as a result-oriented approach.

Location: New Delhi

The Job Profile:

Design and contribute to field projects/activities such as renewable
energy promotion and improved energy access
Conduct policy studies/analysis in the area of climate change and energy
Develop and contribute to research activities related to climate
change such as innovation, scaling up of renewable energy, low carbon
development, climate finance, water-energy-food nexus, climate change
impacts on biodiversity, etc
Assist with scaling up of field initiatives and developing
policy/advocacy strategies related to energy and climate change issues
at the state and national level
Take initiatives for organizing workshops/meetings, preparing
background documents and preparing relevant documents for wider
dissemination/advocacy.
Contribute to project related activities ongoing in the CCE division,
as well as meeting technical and financial reporting for projects.

Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:

A degree in Engineering with specialization in Environmental Science
Or A Masters degree in Energy/Environment/ Climate Science/Development
Studies/Economics
A degree in the field of climate change and energy/environmental
studies will be an advantage.
Minimum of 10 years experience in the field of
energy/environment/climate change, with at least two years in a senior
role. Technical experience in energy related issues would be an
advantage.
Experience of working with stakeholders in the Govt. and industry.
Ability to work independently, thoroughness and attention to detail.
Ability to network alliances and create a cooperative environment,
with capacity to thrive on, and learn from, diverse opinions.
Ability to multi-task and to work in a team-oriented, multi-cultural
environment.
Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills, particularly
in English.
