The work is part of a larger MOES-NERC India-UK bilateral project investigating the effects of changing monsoon patterns and extreme rainfall events on the provisioning of ecosystem services by forest communities in the Western Ghats. The project is jointly implemented by the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology & the Environment (ATREE), National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS-TIFR), and the Foundation for Ecological Research, Advocacy & Learning (FERAL). The JRF will be based at NCBS but will be expected to spend a considerable amount of time in the field, often under trying logistical conditions. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in the life sciences,good plant identification skills, and basic statistical and data management skills. Previous field experience is desirable.
