BNHS has an opening for the position of a Research Associate with a keen
interest in research related to wetland birds to head a research project at
Chilika lake, Orissa. The selected candidate will be involved in bird
monitoring, data analysis, report writing and related scientific
publications.
The position will initially be for a period of one year with time divided
between fieldwork, data analysis and publication. It will be extended based
on the candidate’s performance.
Essential qualifications: Master degree in Ecology, Environmental Studies,
Life Sciences,
Wildlife Science or allied disciplines. Candidate should be comfortable
with bird identification skills and be able to handle the project
independently. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in field research as well as
data analysis is a must. Candidates should have good report writing skills.
Preference would be given to those who have published scientific papers.
Salary will be commensurate with experience. Accommodation (sharing basis)
and field expenses will be covered. The research associate will be based
near Balugaun, Orissa close to Chilika lake.
