Title: *The Mysterious Cat Family*
Speaker: *Dr Shomita Mukherjee (Sr. Principal Scientist, SACON)*
About the Speaker: *Dr Shomita Mukherjee* is the Senior Principal Scientist
(SACON) and her work revolves around small wild cats, exploring their
evolutionary and ecological aspects at different spatial scales, limits to
their geographic distributions, morphological and genetic variation,
co-existence, diets and phylogeography. Currently, her current work focuses
on preparing a Conservation Action Plan for the Endangered Forest Owlet
through filed surveys, genetic information, and consultation with various
stakeholders. Apart from research, she has been engaged in teaching and in
supervising Masters and Doctoral theses. She has been a member of the IUCN
Cat Specialist Group since 1995.
