*Position Description: *Paid internship opportunity available in our
ongoing project on ‘‘Spatio-temporal and Thermal Ecology of Indian
Python (*Python
molurus molurus* Linn.1758) in Moyar River Valley, Tamil Nadu”. This will
be largely a field-based and some desk-work based research at Wildlife
Institute of India, Dehradun. The major tasks of the intern is to assist us
in Indian Python telemetry data collection (in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and
Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve,Tamil Nadu), processing and writing technical
report/ scientific publication. The interns will be staying on field site
and are expected to be physically fit to carry out work in hot and humid
weather conditions. It will be a three month internship opportunity
subjected to further extension based on performance of the candidate and
requirement of the project. We encourage candidates who have recently
finished /awaiting results of their Master’s degree to apply.
*Desirable qualification*: (i) Master’s degree in Life sciences (Botany,
Zoology, Wildlife Biology, Environment Science, Forestry, etc.) (ii) Keen
interest in snake studies (iii) good writing skill (iv) some experience in
data analysis.
*Benefits*: A monthly emolument of Rs. 8000/- will be paid during the
internship period.
