Intern: Making documentaries for ecological studies on Central
Himalayan Langurs in Western Himalayas.
Position Description: We are seeking an intern for making
documentaries under long term research project titled “Ecology and
behaviour of Central Himalayan Langur in Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary,
Uttarakhand, India.
Intern will be responsible for (a) Formulation of short documentaries
theme in discussion with Principle Investigator (PI) (b) Going through
all the collected videos under this project (c) Filming of videos for
various behavioural aspects in fields to introduce themselves with
study species (d) Selection and editing of best videos as per theme
(e) Making of short documentaries using these videos.
Study Site: This position is based in Mandal villages in Chamoli
district Uttarakhand, India.
Living conditions: Very basic living conditions with basic food.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Must have relevant experience of making wildlife documentaries.
- Must have relevant knowledge of suitable video and audio
editing software’s
- Must have some field experience of filming wildlife
- Must be able to live and work independently and as part of a
multicultural team.
- Intern must have sound physical and mental health without
any pre-existing conditions that might require immediate medical
attention.
Support provided for internship (Basic meals and lodging): Basic food
and accommodation at the field site will be covered by the project.
Stipend: Consolidated 25,000 INR after successful completion of
documentaries on ecology of Central Himalayan Langurs as suggested by
PI. Intern will be on probation period for 15 days to evaluate their
performance. After a satisfactory performance, Position will be
offered for two months. No stipend will be paid during the probation
period.
Term of Appointment: approximately Mid-August 2017 - October 2017 (two
and half months including probation).
