Dear All,
I am looking for a field assistant/volunteer/intern based in Baripada
(Mayurbhanj) to assist in my ongoing Ph.D. research work on “Climate Change
Risk and Adaptation of Tribal Communities in Similipal Biosphere Reserve,
Odisha, India.”.
The data collection mainly involves key informant interviews, household
surveys and participatory rural appraisal (PRA) methods to assess climate
perception, risk, and adaptation of tribals in Similipal. The fieldwork
will be conducted across sixteen blocks in Mayurbhanj. The applicant should
have a strong affinity for assisting in rigorous fieldwork under
challenging weather conditions. The work period is 1st March 2021 to 1st
December 2021 which can be extended further if required.
The applicant shall get firsthand experience of working with the tribal
inhabitants in Similipal and conducting surveys and focussed group
discussions (FGDs). A basic monthly remuneration of Rs. 5000 shall be
provided to the candidate. A work experience letter may be provided by the
Forest Research Institute, Dehradun upon satisfactory work of the
candidate. Candidates may belong to any stream. However, graduates/masters
in Forestry/Wildlife/ Biodiversity Conservation/ Sociology shall be
preferred.
