Indicators for Measuring Climate Smartness in Agriculture of India and
Bangladesh
To: meet.yeti@xxxxxxxxx

Dear, Yeti administrators

Greetings from IIFM Bhopal,

Climate change is affecting food security in all the aspects of
availability, accessibility, utilization and stability of food systems. In
this regard, the concept of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) is being
adopted across the states and countries to address the simultaneous
fulfilment of mitigation, adaptation to climate change and food security.

Different governmental and non-governmental agencies are implementing a
number of CSA practices and technologies to achieve higher productivity,
lower agriculture-sourced GHG emissions, and greater adaptive capacity.
Moreover, these interventions need to be monitored and evaluated using
indicator-based indices to understand the role of different intervention in
achieving climate smart agriculture, and to enhance the climate smart
quotient based on the feedback.

To strengthen the monitoring and evaluation of CSA, Solidaridad Asia and
IIFM have developed a comprehensive Global Code for measuring CSA, which
includes five dimensions and 33 indicators. Furthermore, we are jointly
working to derive weightage to different CSA practices based on expert
consultation. In this regard, may I request you to complete the online
survey by ranking different dimensions and indicators, so that we can
develop a climate smart score based on weighted indicators/dimensions. The
link of the online survey is as under:
