*Parineeta Dandekar* is Associate Coordinator at South Asia Network on
Dams, Rivers and People. She describes herself as "just a river researcher
who loves rivers and their connections to ecology, culture and communities."
*Steve Lockett* is Education and Outreach Officer for Mahseer Trust, and a
retired teacher and photojournalist. Since 1999, he has travelled
extensively within India and SE Asia looking at rivers in general, mahseer
fish in particular and trying to understand the complex mix of factors that
affect ecosystem health, and how they impact upon those who live close to
them.
