*WORKSHOP ON BASICS OF ANURAN SOUND RECORDING AND ANALYSIS *
*27-29 October 2020 (6:00 pm - 8:00 pm IST)*
*THE WORKSHOP WILL INTRODUCE YOU TO THE BASICS OF ANURAN SOUND RECORDING
AND ANALYSIS BY EXPERTS IN AMPHIBIAN TAXONOMY AND FIELD RESEARCH. *
*Introduction to physics of sound production and **propagation,
Oscillograms and Spectrograms, sound **categories of anuran vocalization,
recording sounds in the **field – gears and accessories, Nyquist frequency
and **sampling rate and the do’s and don’ts of field recordings. **Introduction
to Raven Pro, fast Fourier Transform, FFT **windows, DFT size and hop size
and their importance in **acoustic analysis.*
*Participation certificates will be provided. Laptop/Computer with good
internet connection, processing speed, and at least 4 GB RAM recommended. *
