Indexer
Freelance contract ? using web-based admin system, ensuring that data fields
contain the correct information as compared to the printed magazine article.
While we describe the position as an Indexer, professional indexing
experience is not required, though advantageous.
Hours: We would like a commitment for 20 hours/week; more hours are available
if desired, so we are willing to accept more than one qualified applicant.
Requirements: Work from home, preferably on a PC with a high-speed Internet
connection. Must be comfortable with computers; understanding of database
entry, professional indexing or archiving an asset, as is knowledge of (or
interest in) Canadian history. Expect to complete 12 ? 15 records per hour.
Accurate accounting and reporting of progress in invoices is mandatory.
Pay Rate: $12.00 - $15.00/hour

Digitizer
Freelance contract - using a desktop flat-bed scanner, the job is to scan
pages of magazines.
Hours: Tuesday thru Friday, 1pm ? 5 pm (unless you have a personal scanner
you can use at home which is sufficient for our needs; then we would consider
more hours on your own schedule.)
Requirements: Must be comfortable with computers and know Photoshop (or
similar program) or be willing/able to learn quickly. Knowledge of writings
pdfs in Acrobat a definite asset.
Pay Rate: $8.50/hour (more if Photoshop and Acrobat skills are able to meet
other needs.)
