Good evening to all -
This is a modified version to the email I sent out to the Members
List, so it is going to sound familiar. Please note the difference
in the list server email address.
We are initiating a new service to help facilitate group email
communications among Maryland/DC ARMY MARS STAFF. This list service
will allow you to send an email that will go to all of our fellow
STAFF simultaneously, with the use of a single email address:
mdmars_staff@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Unlike the broadcast type e-mails we currently receive from AAT3TMD,
this new service will allow for the rapid exchange of information
amongst ourselves. This service is very fast and, during testing,
was found to even support the use of attachments.
You would NOT use this service to send correspondence to a particular
member, or even a small group of members. You would address that
type of email just like you always have.
This is a lot like ham radio - no privacy and everyone can literally
"read the mail." If you send an email to mdmars_staff@xxxxxxxxxxxxx,
everyone on the list will get your email. If you express an opinion
about something that you wanted kept private, it will be too late and
out there for all to read. Rants and flames will not be
accommodated. 'Nuff said.
For the present time, I will be the administrator and will be glad to
help anyone out with questions, changes, problems or
suggestions. For example, we can place you on "vacation" if you're
going to be out of pocket and don't want to come back to a pile of
our email traffic. For the most part, you should find the use of
this list to be fairly smooth. Please bear with me while I work
through the learning curve myself.
