Greetings from the basement. I hope this message finds our club members and
their families doing well. These are unprecedented times and nothing I
communicate herein is meant in any way to make light of the situation which is
impacting people’s livelihoods, finances, health and emotional wellbeing . It
is, however, meant to help keep us connected, happy, hopeful and cheerful. So
during this time of social distancing I hope you are finding time to bond with
your Corvair and keep in touch with your fellow MCCC members via phone, text,
email and Facebook.
Yesterday was a perfect day to shuffle the Corvairs in the garage and go for
short drives around the area. No human contact was required. Cool breeze in
the air, loads of sunshine, winding hilly roads—you get the picture.
Air-cooled gladness to counter the ongoing virus madness. Have you taken time
to wash, wax or repair the Corvair? This may a good time to work on those
smaller projects. What you don’t know you can find in conversation with a
fellow club member, in an online Corvair forum, in an internet information
search or in a video on YouTube. Lots of resources for the shade tree mechanic
who is working on their own.
I propose we host a Zoom or Skype virtual club meeting in April in place of the
scheduled meeting. I think it is pretty apparent to everyone that there won’t
be an in-person club gathering next month. I will research the details but if
there is anyone out there who wants to set it up, I am all in.
Take care of yourselves and your families. Keep in touch and many blessings to
all.
Happy motoring!
Matt
