Hello,
Here's the promised follow up to the last e-mail.
I checked with Angel and Brian, and they wanted me to send out their
respective emails: BrianJChiang@xxxxxxxxxxx & angelpenuelas35@xxxxxxxxx
EChALE STEM met on Thursday to discuss the Posadas, but they would still be
happy to have your input and involvment! I've also attached the slides that
Brian (International Club) presented at the meeting; contact him if you have
any comments/questions.
Now for the debate!!!!
**I've attached the press release; however, it only discusses the main
campus.**
We need your help.
Can you spread the word about three viewing locations for the 49th
Congressional District debate to be broadcast on NBC this Tuesday, October 2,
at 6:30 PM? There will be live cameras at the main Oceanside Campus and
questions from the audience will be taken, including 2-4 that the student
government at MiraCosta has provided. In order to secure some of the limited
seating in Aztlan A/B (Bld. 3400), one can RSVP to Kristen Huyck.
If another campus is closer, folks are welcome to come to the San Elijo
Student Center Conference Rooms (same building as the Cardiff Reef Cafe) or
the Community Learning Center Lobby. At these locations, there will be tables
providing voting information and, potentially, voter registration.
Refreshments may also be provided at these additional locations, including
popcorn... just please keep in mind that there are only going to be live
cameras at the Oceanside campus, where they will be taking questions from the
audience.
Come join us for a wonderful night of politics-filled adventure, and help
spread the word to anyone and everyone in the larger community, especially
all of the students you interact with (Canvas notifications, etc.)! There
will be student government representatives at every campus.
We would very much appreciate if you sent this information to folks in your
clubs! 😊
Thank you!!! Hope to see many of you there.

Subject: Recap for ICC Meeting 9/26
Hello everyone,
Thank you to those who attended the meeting 😊
Just to clarify, the presenter today who spoke about the Fall Festival is
named Angelena Boles, and her email is aboles@xxxxxxxxxxxxx She is cc'd to
this email. The flyer was attached in a previous email; I've re-attached it
again just in case. The event will be this Saturday, 11:30 - 3:00! Check it
out, and reach out to Ms. Boles if you want to help.
If you would like to get involved in EChALE STEM's Posada, please reach out
to me and I will put you in contact with Angel. If you would like the slides
or other information about the Halloween Party being headed by International
Club, or to get involved, please reach out to me and I can put you in touch
with Brian.
The locations for the debate viewings are set!!! Aztlán A/B in Oceanside, the
Student Center Conference Rooms at SAN, and the Lobby at the CLC. There may
be live cameras on the OCN campus for ASG and some other students to ask
questions, and there may be voter registration at the CLC. If you want more
information, have any questions or want to find out how you can help, please
reach out to me at this email and to Emiliia at edyrenkova@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Once
we have promotional material, I will send some out.
Also, don't forget to attend Have a Voice, Make a Choice! this Thursday,
12:30-1:30 in Oceanside. I've re-attached that flyer as well.
Finally, please remember to submit activities requests for ALL activities,
INCLUDING MEETINGS! Please do not ask your advisor to book rooms on your
behalf. Reach out to myself and Melanie if you have any questions.
Please forward relevant information to your club members!!!
Sincerely,
Lucas Kurlan, ICC Chair

Also,
If any of you or your club members are in Oceanside THIS THURSDAY,
12:30-1:30, make sure to get out to College Hour for Have a Voice, Make a
Choice! (flyer attached)
Learn about the election happening this November 6 - you'll even get to meet
and chat with some of the candidates for our Board of Trustees, which you'll
be voting on come November! Our Student Government (ASG) will also be out in
force, so talk to us to learn more about what we do and help us better
represent you. If you are interested in helping foster civic engagement for
the upcoming election, contact Emiliia Dyrenkova (edyrenkova@xxxxxxxxxxxxx).
Additionally, we will be live-streaming a debate for the 49th Congressional
District October 2 (NEXT TUESDAY) to Aztlan A/B in Oceanside. We will most
likely be streaming it to more locations on the other 2 campuses; stay tuned
for more...
Please forward this email!!!
Thanks for your attention,
Lucas K.

Subject: ICC Meeting THIS WEDS!
Hello everyone,
I hope you have had a wonderful weekend!
Attached is the meeting notice and agenda, as well as the flyer for Diversity
Day and the Fall Festival. I can provide the posters or agenda in other
formats if needed.
Even if you were not a recognized club as of the posting of this agenda (i.e.
you're not listed on the agenda), please come; you will get useful
information and participate in setting group goals and other discussion.
Members of the public are also welcome to attend and participate.
I have attached the minutes we will be considering for approval. Please
review them!
IMPORTANT REMINDER: List all members and advisors on your Engage roster!
Students will be able to take a transcript of extracurriculars with them once
they graduate MiraCosta; by having them on the official roster, there will be
an official record of them having been part of the club. Additionally, it
lets the school know where people are in case of emergency, as well as
advisors to do things on behalf of your club on Engage.
SECOND IMPORTANT REMINDER: Put in an Event Request for ALL Events, including
Meetings! This way, other students can see your events and meetings on
Engage, and we can help make sure everything goes smoothly. This applies to
official events or meetings held anywhere on or off campus.
**If you do not want to get agendas and/or other emails any more or you know
some else who does want to receive them, please contact me**
Let me know if you have any questions! I look forward to meeting all of you.
Sincerely,
Lucas Kurlan, ICC Chair
