Great meeting tonight ClubITers! We started on a somber note tonight, but
were able to put a lot in motion and still end in a wealth of laughter and
joy. For those unable to make it this week or for anyone who may need a
recap, this week we:
-Learned about the unfortunate passing of our much loved club member and
prior VP River. A beautiful message from his loved ones was read to us, and
emphasized how much he enjoyed his involvement in ClubIT. Several ideas
were brought up to properly memorialize River, including an idea of
incorporating his memory into our shirt design or dedicating a plaque on
campus somewhere to him. If you have any ideas feel free to bring them to
the next meeting when we will be voting on the best method. He is warmly
remembered and greatly missed.
-Workshopped the idea of refurbishing computers for donation. The purchase
of Windows 10 licenses would have to be covered by club funds and the Covid
restrictions for club events were potential roadblocks in the plan but
folks will be reaching out to the proper authorities to see what can be
done or when such a event could be viable.
-Brainstormed guest speakers and topics we would like to have them cover. A
good many leads were generated! If you have a potential contact that you
think would make a great guest speaker for ClubIT, reach out and let us
know!
-Had another great and long night of talking tech!
