I myself think every so often about the practical crisis of Russia's war
in Ukraine. I have started working on an epistemological portrait of
Russian President Vladimir Putin. I am collecting the ways he figures

I want to work out his mindset as a way to make concrete what it could
mean to look at everything from his point of view.

Per today's meetup, I'm wondering if WW has ways to contribute to a lasting
peace (RIP war) in your region of Eurasia, where currently retro tank
battles rage.
I'm not clear if your Wiki page based on the Tucker interview is finished?
No mention of NATO, so it can't be. No current events yet mentioned.
I blame the think tanks mostly, for the ongoing military theater, for not
tracking the work of World Game and GENI.
We were making a lot of positive strides with the Russians and Cubans
before neocons hijacked DC and assumed we would see them as entitled to
rule over us. Not.
Vlad feels betrayed, with statements from Angela Merkel and others
corroborating the Minsk Agreements process was always a shame and that the
real plan in DC was to treat Russians with arrogant disrespect, as a "gas
station with nuclear weapons". True, only a faction of DCers think that
way. Let's call them the John McCain types.
I think Russophobia is a much greater flaw in the American character than
anti-semitism. It was disguised as anti-communism during the Cold War, but
that mask has been ripped off. As Putin put it "we're as boogie as you
now, why not let us in, to both NATO and the EU?" (paraphrase). The
answer: no, because we need you to keep being the bad guys.
I notice it's OK to be brazenly insulting towards Russians and Russian
culture in the US. This represents the worst of Europe as well. We have to
remember that America was settled by Europeans who brought a lot of
unwelcome cultural baggage to our shores.
Fortunately, here in Oregon we have no problem with Russians, our 3rd
largest language group, or with Ukrainians. They're all beautiful people.
Demonization of the other goes nowhere.
