Hard to believe it's that time of the year again - time to start planning
the annual *EPIC long weekend diving down at Wilson's Prom!*!
To sum up, the dive trip will be held over *Melbourne Cup Day long weekend
(3-6th November) *and will involve awesome diving with boulders,
swim-throughs, lots of marine life, seals everywhere, and if we are lucky
even dolphins and WHALES!!! Check out this youtube video

how awesome the underwater world at the Prom is.
If you don't want to dive (but why wouldn't you???) or if the conditions
aren't suitable for diving there's heaps of amazing bush walks, beaches,
and overall social shenanigans. The Prom is about a 3.5 hour drive from
Melbourne and we camp at Tidal River. There are hot showers and flushing
toilets :) There are also other dive clubs down that weekend and on
Saturday night it is our turn to host the annual Scuba Divers Federation of
Victoria's BBQ and raffle (which means it's going to be awesome and you can
win some sweet prizes!!).
Please note there is also quite a lot of work to be done on this trip,
especially regarding launching our two ton boat by pushing it by hand into
a surf beach, filling tanks, cooking meals and such. This year since we are
hosting the BBQ so we will also need ALL HANDS ON DECK Saturday evening for
cooking, organising etc. Diving at the prom can also be quite challenging
in cold water (12-14C) and swell, please let me know if you are unsure of
your diving abilities and would like to discuss further.
*You will need to be a member of both MONUC and MASC for this trip*.
Estimated cost is around $400 for the entire long weekend, including
donations for boat fuel, boat use, compressor use, camping fees, and group
meals...excluding membership fees, gear hire and transport to the prom.
