Hi all, thanks to Dan, w1dan for providing this information from Bob Finney. I
forward here to point out an observation. If you read through it you can see
that they were able to obtain “factory sponsorship”, so to speak, from Icom.
That got me thinking … Since we (as the Zola group) are a very unique group due
to the bulk of our membership and activities we might be able to court the
attention of one or more of the Amateur radio equipment producers. This can be
very beneficial for two reasons:
* It may result in some resources for our group
* It would expose the equipment manufactures to the fact that we are, as
disabled hams, a real market segment and get a dialog started on accessibility.
Is there any person or persons who have the time (preferably someone retired)
and good writing skills to reach out to manufactures and vendors to get the
conversation started?

Subject: [wars-radio] Re: Field Day 2019 planning
Folks:
Bob K5TEC is busy doing Field Day at NE SCI Tech. He notes:
"We are offering a full 24-hour FD here at NEST. Link to NE Sci-Tech Field Day
and schedule: https://www.nescitech.org/arrl-field-day/arrl-field-day-2019/
Everyone at the Needham FD are welcome to come join us any time, for HF work or
just to socialize. We are partnered with MIT Lincoln Labs radio team, and
sponsored by ICOM America. ICOM will be bringing several of their latest rigs
that you can see and try out — one IC-9700 VHF/UHF/1.2 GHz transceiver and two
IC-7610 HF/50MHz All Mode Transceivers.
We are doing a club/FD photo op at 6pm Saturday, if anyone wants to join us.
Best regards,
Bob

Maybe we can work them, or steal their food???
This summer I hope some of us can offer to help them out. Sounds like fun there.
