Say hello to all member, The ecology of coastal vegetation and habitat assessment is one of focus research umbrella for our student on Marine Science Study Program, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University Padjadjaran. With this email, i want to registration for workshop, at IPB, 19/11/2010. But i have a favor to Dr. Karen, can i going with 4 lecturer from marine science, FPIK UNPAD? If there is opportunity we hope we can meet on the workshop. The candidates is: 1. Donny J. Prihadi., S.Pi., MSc., CPM 2. Syawaludin H, S.Pi., MSc 3. Noir, P. Purba, S.Pi., MSi Last but not least that i would love to say thank you for invite me to the mar_edunet@xxxxxxxxxxxx, and i wish FPIK UNPAD will be proactive to be a member for sharing, discussion and other activity we will have. The improving knowledge and getting update with the marine science education network it is must. I wish all member in the good mood and healthy. Warm regards from Bandung, Donny Juliandri Prihadi, S.Pi., MSc., CPM. Especially in a large archipelago like Indonesia the demand exceeds by far requirements for upcoming tasks, e.g. in sustainable habitat and resource management and conservation, monitoring, global change mitigation measures. The implementation of the Coral Triangle Initiative will require a close cooperation of scientists and all stakeholders in several countries, as well as a need to establish new networks - especially aiming to train next generation´s marine scientists and decision makers. This workshop, which is a follow-up and implementation of the regional Marine Science Education Network recently established, will focus on seagrass meadows as an example of coastal ecosystems, with a wide variability in species composition, human exploration, ecosystem health throughout the Coral Triangle region and neighbouring seascapes. Effects of global climate change, over-exploitation and other threads are imminent, but how to address these questions in marine science education? The regional „Marine Science Education Network“ provides a way of sharing teaching as well as research resources. The current approach should be further developed during the workshop. Marine scientists, university lecturers, and students are invited to participate.
