Social Security Benefits Increase in 2022
In January 2022, the federal benefit rate for recipients of Social Security
benefits and Supplemental Security income (SSI) payments will increase by
5.9%. The benefit rate increases when the cost of living rises as measured
by the Department of Labor’s Consumer Price Index.
Social Security Administration will mail notices throughout the month of
December to disability beneficiaries, SSI recipients, representative
payees, retirees and those who receive survivor benefits. You can learn
