Things I learned this week:
- Having a Monday off every now and then is awesome...even if you only
use it to catch up on things you don’t have time to do on the weekend.
- Politics are ugly (I actually learned that a while ago, but the notion
was reinforced repeatedly these last few days).
- Listening to actual legislative floor debates is not something many
citizens do, but probably should.
- Lopsided baseball games are painful to watch.
- While we can effectively conduct a lot of business virtually, there is
nothing like convening in person to brainstorm ideas, share values and
develop relationships. This includes lunches and car rides after.
- I should never be “the navigator” – having a GPS device in my hand
makes no difference.
- The DBH team just keeps getting better and better – we’re bringing on
some great talent despite our own workforce challenges, and our existing
staff keep developing professionally and facing new challenges with grace
and fortitude.
- As an employer, an employee, a provider, a stakeholder, or
whatever...if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the
problem.
- *Ozark*’s ending was....(just kidding...no spoilers here, but let me
know if you want to debrief!) J
- My little girl is graduating this weekend and I’m completely not
prepared...logistically, mentally, emotionally, or any other way...but it’s
going to happen and I need to live in each moment. To all of you with young
children...what “they” say is true...time passes in the blink of an eye...I
swear I just dropped her off at kindergarten a few years ago.
