Neighbors,
After 26 years in the Mansion Neighborhood, I have sold 72 Park Avenue, and
I will be moving to Beverwyck in Slingerlands at the end of July. Many of
my books and paraphernalia will not be going with me. Instead of having a
yard sale, I am going to host a benefit for the South End Children's Café
(SECC). The idea is that my neighbors and friends will come to select
objects from among my superfluous cookware, handicraft materials, baskets,
picnic supplies, picture frames, sports equipment, seasonal decorations,
jewelry, etc., and -- on the way out -- drop a contribution in a cashbox to
be given to the Children's Cafe.
The staging area for my move is the empty apartment on the second floor at
72 Park Ave. I'm putting the things that are up for grabs in one bedroom
which you can hunt through by appointment during the next week. Next
Saturday, I’ll keep the front door open for anyone who wants to drop in
between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. After that, I will be making trips to the
Salvation Army, et al., to dispose of the rest.
I do not have a supply of bags and extra boxes. I have some packing
material. If you have your own boxes and bags to carry home your new
treasures, please bring them.
